Not this birthday (which is today) but next year. She has been asking for a chameleon for a while now. We are not in a place where we can have one, and I am not sure she is responsible enough to have one quite yet. But we will be in a place to have one by next year, and I think a year is enough time to get her ready for a pet of her own. This is my plan, tell me if you think it is too over the top.
We will have a princess b-day party, and during the party "Repunzle" from tangled will show up (obviously just a friend dress up like repunzle), she will give my daughter "Pascal" (forgive me on my spelling), and tell her that she is giving him to her.
I know that she would go crazy!
What do you think? To over the top?
I think it's cute. We brought my daughter to disney where the real princesses live and she had so much fun.

In a year is that still gonna be something she's interested in? If so it sounds great. I don't know much about chameleons though. How old will your daughter be?

My dd is 6 months old. I'm looking forward to seeing all the things she will be interested in when she gets older.

She will be six next year. I dont see hher growing out of princesses anytime soon. I dont know much anout chameleons, so it will give me time to figure out what it will need and how to care for it.

It is very interesting to see how and what they become interested in. My dd is the only girl out of 5 kids, and she is right in the middle of all those boys, and she has a not so girly mom... yet she is all girl and into princess, frilly dresses, the whole nine yards... not sure where all that came from!!
My 8 yr old is into books, loves harry potter, and is really getting into the lord of the rings, my 6 yr old loves Thomas the tank engine, Angry birds, and a game called Plants vz Zombies, my three year old is into Zombies (sigh, long story), motercycles (or as he calls them "speedmodes") and monster trucks, and my 2 yr old is obsessed with dinosaurs ("dd saurs"), yo gaba gaba, and fresh beat band ("beatbeat band")... they are all so very different!

Sounds awesome! :)
