Child support

Got the child support proposal today. I am not contesting it. My ex owes 6000 dollars in arrears. Has to pay 950 in support and 85 in medical. I know he will fight it if he can, though. He hated having to pay 300 to his first ex. My mother says he is getting off easy, though. I don't need the money. I have been supporting us fairly well alone. Do you think 950 is not enough for four kids in child support?

Depending  on what he makes I think so, why shouldn't he be payiing?  If nothing else put the $ away for the kids college.

I'm supposed to be getting $725 for two kids and my ex only made like max $50K a year. $950 for 4 doesn't sound like a lot to me.

I think you just need to consider how much he gives you will effect your kids. If he can afford it, great, if he will have a hard time surviving on what he has left if you take more, let it stand as it is. He needs a place to live and all the other necessities that you need when he has your children with him, assuming that he will be taking them for visitation. Both parents need to be able to give them a home.

That's like $212 a month per kid? It sounds reasonable. It depends on his income though.. if he's making an insane amount of money then, yeah, I'd think he could contribute more. If you don't "need" it, I wouldn't turn it down, but put it in a savings account for college.

He doesnt have bills. He lives at his parents house and drives his mom's van. He has visitation.

That seems light. I'm supposed to get $546 for 1 child. But that amount is based on what he makes.

It's more than I expected. He said he wanted it set to 200 a month for all of them. I just left it to CSE because he never even gave me that.
