Tramatic Births

I have been ready quite a bit about traumatic births recently. I was basically bullied into having a cesarean because it was the middle of the night and the doctor on call wanted to go back to bed. My daughter also kept moving around away from the fetal heart monitor so I kept being told she was in distress. My midwife was called but they started the surgery without her. They almost forgot to bring my husband in. Then they took away my daughter for no good reason and wouldn't bring her to me for about 16 hours. I had a bunch of male interns watch me attempt to breastfeed without my consent as well as pulling up my gown to look at the scar without my consent. Also the pain meds sucked. Tylenol 3 doesn't cut it when the next person gets morphine for the same pain.

I know there is a lot worse that could happen but that was my first surgery and hospital stay. It was pretty traumatic for me. Anyone else want to share?

Sounds like my MIL and older SIL. To this day I still get crabbed at by them over not doing what they would do with my daughter.

I loved my midwife with my first but it's my mom that nearly killed me. She pushed me to try and go natural. Wish I would have ignored her. I almost died having my ds and spent 2 weeks in the hospital. 1 of those weeks in bed cause my lady bits got a hematoma. I got pain meds with my 2nd and an epi and literally slept through the whole thing. They induced me with pitocin and I didn't feel anything I was up and walking around no problem that night.

It's not a personal jab at you or any of the moms here for that matter but especially on CM I see people who cannot let go of not having had the ideal birth to the extent it becomes an absolute obsession and mentally damaging. I had less than prefect births, but I got three beautiful healthy kids out of it. Would I do it again, in a heart beat.

I'm happy I had a healthy daughter out of it. I was just curious to hear other peoples opinions and stories.

Quoting Anonymous:

Personally, I think people would be better off to let go of this and be grateful for their healthy baby rather than dwell and keep going over and over it. By all means do your best to have a better experience next time.if there is a next time but a less than perfect birth should not be held on to and dictate your everyday life when you have a live healthy child as a result

I am still traumatized from delivering DD 6 months ago. I swear I have PTSD from that experience. Thankfully, she is perfect and thriving now. I will never have another baby and that us by choice because of how terrifying DD's delivery was.

Fortunately didn't have a horrible experience. Sorry that you did and sincerely hope next time, if you have another, that it goes much smoother and less stressful for you.

My son killed me for a couple seconds, and almost himself. Right as I pushed, he decided to flip over wrapping his cord around his neck. We didn't know and my pushing was pulling the cord tighter, once it was caught the doc pushed him back up, flipped him back over, while the other doc brought me back.

No time for c section I got both of my main drs hands up there and they grabbed him and pulled him out

Yeah :\ I was really afraid for him. All of us were balking at the idea of the c-section but the longer we went on, the worse we were getting. If he had been born via c-section they said he would've been transported to the nearest NICU which was like nearly two hours away

Quoting Pokemon_Lover:

Scary.

Quoting raye-chan:

My docs and midwife were against me having a c-section. The only reason why they did in the end was because I did not efface, I did not dilalate past a 3, my bp soared and my son's heart rate dropped quite a few times and my oxygen dropped. They even ruptured my water and still nothing! It sucked after being told 30 hours into labor that a c-section was now the only option after we were induced because he was late.

The good thing about him being delivered vi c-section is that he did not inhale his first poop he took in me. He had to be on oxygen himself and antibiotics just in case so we couldn't hold him for like an entire day :(

I'm glad everything was alright for both of you. That one is truly terrifying.
