Since it is factored, you can just set each term equal to zero:
(5x+1)=0
And
(x+3)=0
And solve for x for each one.
(5x+1)=0
And
(x+3)=0
And solve for x for each one.

I guess ill try since my college class starts tomorrow.. I guess -3. 5x-3+1= -14 so 4(-14)(-3+3) .. 4x-14= -56.. -56(-3+3) -3+3=0, -56x0=0.. lol wow I have no idea if that's right but it looks good.

If you start with expanding the expression first, you can use the quadratic formula.

5xsq+16x+3=0
5xsq=-16x-3
X
Im lost...its workable. X dosent =0 though. Are yall into negative integers

Wouldn't you add 14 to the other side making it 5x+12=0? But then it would be a fraction. So if it'd supposed to be a whole number...uhh lol I don't miss math.
