My SO got jumped last night

He works the night shift and doesn't get off until 11:30. He works in a safe, well lit, busy place and most of the route of his 15min walk are well lit. But once you get close to our street, it become less well lit and more of a suburban neighborhood than the busy street he works on.

Well, I woke up last night at 1 in the morning and he wasn't home. I got a little scared so I tried his phone and it was in the couch cushins. So great, he had left his phone home and I had no way to reach him. I got a little pissy and sat watching TV (I was up at this point, 29 weeks pregnant and not sleeping well anyway...). I hear him outside talkign to someone and he comes in and says:

"Well! I got robbed tonight."

He was talking to two police officers outside. He has a gash on his elbow, a split lip (on the inside) and a bruise/contusion on his cheek. (Looks like when he got his wisdom teeth out lol. don't mean to lol, just funny memories)

He describes them as 4 black teens that couldn't have been over 18. And if they were, no older than 20. Tall, two of them wern't wearing shirts, and they were all wearing Nike's.

They didn't get everything. Thankfully, he accidentally left his $400 phone home and they didn't get his expensive multitool and work gloves. But they did get his wallet, cigarettes, bank card, ID and the cash he had withdrawn for me because I needed money for the vet today. Among other items. And they got his backpack (which I gave him and I'm a little upset about. It was Underarmor, so kind of pricey).

Usually, my guy can hold his own and he used to carry a switch blade but recently stopped because the neighborhood isn't so bad. But when it's 4 VS 1, he didn't want to put up a fight and get seriously hurt or killed, and while he was somewhat close to the house, he didn't want to run here and let them see where he lived.

Like: "Hmm, the white boy had an iPod charger, a good amount of cash and a couple other good items. Let's see what he has in his house."

I'm so, so pissed off. I just hate these punk ass kids and their parents who obviously aren't there for them and teaching them right and wrong. Material possesions can be replaced (except for pics in his wallet), but he can't be. And I've very thankful he isn't hurt worse or dead.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, it could have been worse. And I hope (I'm doubtful) they get caught.

**UPDATE: He walked around our neighborhood this morning and found his ID, pictures and insurance card (among a few other things in his backpack like the bottle of Pepto. Didn't find the backpack, though.
Also! His bank called and reported suspicious activity on his account. So the punks tried using his card at a gas station up the street and it was declined. But they did use it on small stuff at a Walgreens and a 7-Eleven. So since he had filed a police report last night, his bank is going to contact the police and it'll make it a LOT easier for them to look at security tapes and get a facial ID and maybe even a license plate number.
Dunno if he'll get his money back that they used from his card or not. But I REALLY hope they catch these idiots before they do it to someone else.

This man was VERY grown and she wasn't doing much besides asking the clerk not to call the cops.. He has since been arrested btw. :)

Quoting Ms.Pteranodon:

LOL it was prob some dumb teen looking for a cheap thrill.

Quoting hplesha:

I forgot to mention, the gun was fake too!! I hope one day these clerks realize the gun is not real and call him out in it

Quoting Ms.Pteranodon:

That's kind of funny. I just pictured this tug getting dragged out of a gas station he was trying to rob by his ear. LOL
NOW THAT is a good parent. (I'm also picturing a Madea type woman scolding hima nd dragging him out by his ear).

Quoting hplesha:

Glad he is ok. On the news this week, some guy maybe in his early 20s tried to rob a gas station but his mom walked in and stopped him. How stupid can you get?! Hey mom, take me to the gas station... ugh

I think you're looking in to it too much. They took his wallet, which had his ID. They won't stand there and go through his wallet to give back what they don't want.
Quoting Ms.Pteranodon:

Quoting arianna24:

If they have his ID won't they know where he lives anywhere?

My question is what would 4 black men want with a white mans ID other than to no where he lives... its not like they could try to pass off as him??

That really sucks. Glad he's okay.

Got to say though, it's not always the parents fault. By that age they have their own minds and make their own choices, regardless of how they were raised.

Glad he is ok,  but be careful if they got his id they can find where he lives,  so just be cautious!

I heard about that! It made me laugh only for the simple fact that his mom was able to stop his ignorance and no one got hurt. Its like how stupid can you really be??

Wait, when you say "she" do you mean his mom?

I'm Canadian and don't know much about what it's like there (well other than from a tourist's perspective).

I didn't read the article, only heard about it now, but if his mom drove him and he tried to rob the place with a fake gun.. He must be slow or something! Lol
