My bitching for the day!!!
I hate that hospitals still use Cyotec! It is evil, and NOT safe! A post last night got me so stressed out (other group). Thank GOD the lady who delivered this morning only had slight problems from it! I was praying for her and her baby's lives. I even had nightmares she lost her baby! SOO thankful it did not come true!!! That sh@t scares me! It is NOT intended to induce labor! It KILLS women and babies!!!
DON'T USE IT!!!
I dislike how women 100% trust anyone else with the birth of their babies!!! They are human, and not only make mistakes, but are motivated by other factors (lack of patience, regulations, money, etc...). What they decide is not always what is safest.
Listen to their advice. Don't just discard it. However, study it out for yourself too!!! Take charge of your pregnancy! It is not only your right. It is your responsibility as a mother to chose what is safest for you and your child!
You WILL go into labor eventually! Unless you have a rare medical condition, your body will go into labor! 40 weeks is not an expiration date. Some women go 42. I even saw one go to 46!!! You're body is not broken if you are still pregnant at 39, 40, 41, or even 42 weeks. Your baby and body are not ready yet. There are always medical reasons for induction. However, don't let someone tell you your body won't go into labor. You will not be pregnant forever!

IDK and I agree.
Quoting 3pippings:Then why is it still on the market? And I think the hospitals which use this are very irresponsible.
Quoting kcangel63:
The FDA says not to use it. Many hospitals do.
The FDA says...
Cytotec (MISOPROSTOL) ADMINISTRATION TO WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT CAN CAUSE ABORTION, PREMATURE BIRTH, OR BIRTH DEFECTS. UTERINE RUPTURE HAS BEEN REPORTED WHEN Cytotec WAS ADMINISTERED IN PREGNANT WOMEN TO INDUCE LABOR OR TO INDUCE ABORTION BEYOND THE EIGHTH WEEK OF PREGNANCY (see also PRECAUTIONS and LABOR AND DELIVERY). Cytotec SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN BY PREGNANT WOMEN TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ULCERS INDUCED BY NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS (NSAIDs) (see CONTRAINDICATIONS, WARNINGS, and PRECAUTIONS).
PATIENTS MUST BE ADVISED OF THE ABORTIFACIENT PROPERTY AND WARNED NOT TO GIVE THE DRUG TO OTHERS.

Seriously?!?!
Quoting alwayskk:It's so scary. When I was pregnant with my second, there was a lady who posted about terrible sciatica and her doctor was suggesting twilight sleep. :(

It's basically an abortion drug they use to induce. It causes some women's uterus to rupture.
Quoting bustybee:what is cyotec? i have never heard of it
