I wake up at 0400 every morning and swim until 0530. Then I go wake up my kid and make sure she is getting ready while I dress for PT. Then I grab my uniform and leave the house by 6. I drop her off at summer camp and hit the gym. By 8 I am at work for the day. I do whatever jobs come in, complete training, and take care of my airmen. I leave the office around 1730. Pick up dd and go home to cook dinner, take her for a swim, a little house cleaning, and homework for my classes. Sometimes we have formations and what not that I have to attend.
My airmen are very much like my kids. I am responsible for their actions. I get calls all the time from them or about them. My life is hectic but I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I don't expect praise or anyone to kiss my ass. I do it because I want too.
Deployed life is completely different. In so many ways it is easier. But I struggle with missing my family. My responsibilities are minimal though.
