When did you start forward facing your child's carseat?

My son turned one on Friday. I've had a couple friends ask me why I still have him rear facing. I know it's safer, and I'm not planning on turning the carseat around until he either reaches the max weight limit for rear facing, or if his legs get too long and he's squished. But they told me they both started forward facing around 10 months!! Isn't that illegal??

At least A year or when you feel comfortable there is no law saying at a year they have to forward facing

I turned my daughter around when it was legal to do so.

My oldest son was probably nine months, maybe a little older.  My daughter was about fifteen months and my youngest son about the same.

My son was 8 months. But I didn't know about car seat safety then. This baby will rear face a lot longer. I don't know when we will turn her around though, figure I'll just see how things go, definitely after a year though.
