So dh calls me Friday and tells me his ex wife called and said she never got child support and she called the child support office and was told dh didn't pay. He told her he did pay but that he would calle and have me go down there. She says no just call them. He told he was working and he was in a customers house and needs to get off the phone that he'd send me down to the cs office and see if maybe it got stuck. We drop the cs off in a drop box one time it got stuck and they didn't see it. She flips out on him telling him he'd better not send me it's not business that he'd better call himself. Just freaking out. Really??? I don't see the issue of me going down to the cs office and saying hey just you just check the box for the cs envelope it got stuck once before. I don't understand her at all. What does she think I'm going to do??? Now normally dh does do it but he was working an hour away and even if he has left he never would have made it to the office. I don't see the big deal at all. She's just crazy
****dh couldn't just wait to do it. Where I live they lock you up within days of non payment. He was going to locked up first thing Monday morning. They have locked him up for 20 bucks because the cs office never notified him his cs would be going up. The judge let him go.
Yes they really lock you up in sc for non payment. They do not play games here. My ds father owes me over a grand but the case is in nj where we use to live and all the state of nj will do is send a letter to his job to remind them to withhold cs. I wish I could change the case to be in sc cause he's be in jail. I wouldn't make something like that up.
To lose that don't believe me that he gets locked up over 20 bucks or over one missed payment myrtle beach thinks it can make up their own rises. They have done it in the past. I invite you to look up the helmet law of myrtle beach an how the state of sc went after mrytle beach for making their laws and myrtle beach was made to at everyone back. So unless you all work in the myrtle beach cs office and know exactly what happens then please keep to the op please. Thank you. I'm not going to argruee with all of you after where my dh was locked up or not.

I would have just done it, she wouldn't have known anyway unless you all told her. And why does she care, as long as she is getting the money?

Ok you must live in sc right??? I'm not going to agree. In sc you don't pay they it's in the system you didn't pay they send the police to pick you up. When I went to the office the lady told me it was in the computer that he was being picked up Monday morning and was going to update the info. Every state has different laws. Not in every state do they have a long investigation for cs. in sc you don't pay the next week you'll be in jail.

Dh has asked I've asked and they tell us they can't do it. Sc is weird. I have my exs wages garnished but I haven gotten cs since April. And it's still being taken out of his check. Go figure. He has his lawyer looking into it. I've seen the pay stubs it's been ing taken out.

Wage garnishment is a custodial parents best friend. I've had ex wages varnished for 10 yrs now. No more headaches.

Yes if you don't pay for a longer period of time then a day :) lol sounds to me that he's been not paying longer then one time if the warrant is in to pick him up... Which btw they arrest him give him a court date and release him or if he's missed enough payments they will hold him till his court day.

He missed the 20 they picked him up his parents bailed him out and he went to his court date bm also showed up to testify for him that he always pays. Judge saw that a letter was never sent out to him and dropped the case. Now fast forward to now he's never missed a payment cause he knows how quick they come to pick you up. They were going to come Monday so today to pick him up for non payment. That would be 8 days after the cs office did not receive a payment. I went to the office and it was stuck in the drop box. 2 time that's happened in 3 months. Do I think they have better things to do then to lock up a person for 20 bucks or one missed payment? Yes!! But it's good that they do it. They make sure the bm get their money. I want to moved cs case to sc cause I haven't gotten a payment since April and all the stAte of nj will do is send his work letters.
That's how it works here in sc I swear ony grandpas grave. I wouldn'take it up. If I was going to make something up it would be over something better than this lol

Explain this to me. Why is our cs case out of no? I thought if you moved the case should get transferred to where the kid lives now. My husband has a kid who lives n NY child support case is out of NY. So if our kid lives n SC the case should b n SC and then thy could proceed with it in a timely fashion. Also. Check into the news people. GA was n the news last year for locking people up for CS issues as first resort not a last resort as it should b. they changed the way thins could b done to give folks a lil more have now but even GA has been known to lock your butt right up. For most states it is a process. But for some they seriously dont play.
