I've been experiencing weird symptoms over the 6 months or so and I am absolutely terrified of going to the doctor. I do have anxiety/panic attacks so I just attributed my symptoms to my bodys way of reacting to all the stress I've recently been under lately. After talking to my best friend who works at vanderbilt hospital, she is pushing me to make an appt.....I know I should and its silly but I have this fear that they are going to tell me I have some terminal illness. I know its completely irrational to think that way, I just cant help it. I have been under enormous stress and many life changes over the past 6 months so part of me wonders can stress really affect you that much? These are my symptoms:

•Weight loss(some intentional, some not)
•Tightness in my throat(like a feeling of being choked)
•Losing what seems like quite a bit of hair, not gobs of hair but enough to freak me out when I'm in the shower
•Bladder control issues

Now on any given day, I drink endless cups of coffee and I know I definately do not eat the way I should. Plus the stress...what do you guys think? I am really scared:(

**Update: I called and made an appt an appt for Thurs morning. I feel a little better, my DH and my best friend have both offered to go with me...lol I'm a big weinie so I might take them up on it. I am really hoping this is all a manisfestation of my anxiety because all these symptoms started around the time that I added alot of stresses(school, babysitting, etc) and we had some major life changes going on. Thank ya'll so much for your kind words and support**

**UPDATE 2** I'm on the way to the Dr. this morning, my stomach is in knots:( Say a prayer for me please***

*Update 3- Just left Dr's office, she *thinks* its thyroid issues but I won't know definitive answers until lab results come in on Monday. I'm still panicked, I am so scared its going to be something awful. Monday cannot get here soon enough:/ Thank ya'll so much for your thoughts and concerns.**

FINAL UPDATE: Doctor called with my results. They didnt find anything...I'm dissapointed because she was so nonchalant like sorry you have all these weird symptoms but don't know what to tell ya. Didn't want to do more tests, nothing. I am going for a second opinion on the 1st though, and hopefully get some real help.

Thank you:) A few people have told me it sounds like thyroid problems but I'm only 25 and I didnt think that affected many younger people.

Quoting caito:

You're not trying to scare her, but ohitmightbecancer? Jesus, that's a horrible thing to say to someone with stress and anxiety...Shit, it's even making ME nervous and I'm not even the OP. Don't be a dick.

I hope it is anxiety, I really do, but please see a doctor as soon as you are able. I knew a woman with similar symptoms and a few others that are usually indicative of MS. She finally went to her doctor months after the symptoms first appeared and it turned out to be cancer, which was too far gone at that point to treat. She died within a few months of diagnosis. I don't mean to scare you, but please, for your sake find out what it is for sure before it gets worse.

My anxiety seems to get worse close to my period.  I should be starting in about 5 days & my muscles are tense, I swear I feel my heart beat (saw a cardiologist, they did a 3 day monitor & I was fine), my stress during this time makes my TMJ kick in bc I clench my jaw, then I get headaches.  I know what these symptoms are but I then start to say "what if I have a tumor, what if it is my heart & I have a heart attack or stroke, or what if I have cancer" then my shingle line flares up, I don't have the rash or the major pain but I feel the ache in my side so then I worry about my appendix.

I go thru this every single month, it is the same & for some reason I can't seem to fix it:(

I am afraid of meds now, I've tried 3 anxiety meds & they all made me feel horrible, awful!

I am just at a loss anymore:(

Thyroid can affect you at an point in time.

Of course it is more common as you get older but there are many young people w/thyroid problems.

Oh gosh. Weight loss, paranoia, panic attacks, hair loss, a crazy crawling/tight sensation on my head, chest pain, breast pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, leg pain...it's horrible. I've been to the ER six times this year because I thought I was dying.
