Quoting GlockMom:Ummmmm......Talladega. I can't think of anything else.
IS there anything else there?
Quoting onethentwins:Every time I'm in the South, no matter what state, they still go on and on about the civil war: This is where "gone with the wind" was written, This is where the civil war widows used to make lace, etc. It's unbelievable.
Quoting mistync:
What do you mean by " haven't gotten over the civil war"?
I'm not racist and I know more people that aren't than ones that are. Same with homophobes.
Quoting onethentwins:Rednecks, Republicans, people who haven't gotten over the civil war, racism, humidity, homophobes.
Quoting Anonymous:Wow, you must run into a very odd 1% of the population who lectures about those things. I've lived in the South my whole life and have never heard anyone go on and on about the Civil War, not counting History teachers. I do know some racist people and some homophobic ones, but the other 95% of the people I know could really care less about those things. Most people I know feel if a person is good, they're good, period. If they want to marry someone, they should, period. I won't dispute the redneck statement, but I will say there are rednecks in EVERY state and even in other countries. And the humidity, well, that's just a fact of life down here, lol, like having to cope with the monstrous mosquitoes and other insects who love that humidity. ;)
