single moms have it easier than a married couple financially.

Are they not reporting their SO living with them? Than they are committing fraud. I don't see what marriage has to do with it. They are lying about income.
I don't know any in this situation (including myself). I'm a single mom of 3 kids, and my ex pays no child support. I "earn too much" to qualify for any financial help. However, by the time I'm done paying all the bills plus food, daycare, school suppies, medical costs, health insurance, braces, birthdays, etc. -- I am out of money days before the next paycheck. We make it, though. It's just definitely NOT easier than if I were married, financially. That's crazy to say, from my point of view. But maybe for some this is the case.

They are reporting everything but some of the bf are not the fathers of the children so his income doesn't matter and say he isn't living there bc u can't prove that with not being married.

I was a single mom and never got PA. Never even qualified. Seems owning my own house and my car outright were a deterrent. Fine by me. I'd rather live in my own house by my own rules instead of government subsidized living. At least I had something to show for my money and I earned it on my own.
Your case worker must have been new or something.
It even says on the application that all persons living in the house will be considered. Biological fathers who were never married to the biological mother end up having to pay back the state for the monies used to pay for medicaid for the pregnant mother and unborn child.

I reported it and they told me even though we are living together his income doesn't count until we are married...
Could be because I only had medicaid though...
Quoting alwayskk:If you're living together and he is paying any portion of the bills, it is supposed to be reported.
Quoting blue_elephant:
You are wrong, until you are married they don't count your boyfriends/girlfriends incomes.
I yelled at medicaid about this, told them my so made too much and I don't qualify anymore, and they told me his income doesn't count until we are married...
