My mother stayed home most of the time. She tried a few times to get a job but she never held it for long. Mainly because she never could find an affordable babysitter that was a good one. I remember staying at one sitter and she had locked us out of the house because she wanted to smoke weed with her BF and we were in her way.I spent that day outdoors in the rain btw.
Never once did she try a daycare. She was never very trusting with people watching us. And I do think she felt it was her job to take care of us.
My mom went to college when I was little and we lived with my great grandma and great aunt. They watched me most of the time. I know I went to other family members homes here and there as well. When I was older, I went to "Chipmunks" at the local YMCA.
About 45-50 hours a week I would guess. I went to an in home day care until I was three and then went to "preschool". I have a few vauge memories of it, most positive. The only negative I can think of is when I handed a pair of scissors to a teacher blade first and she made me go back to where I cam from, hold them the right way, and hand them back to her. I have never handed scissors blade first to someone since. :)
Daycare from: 7am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday
From the ages of 3-11
My mom was home until I was almost kindergarten. When she went back to work I went to a babysitter after school.
