It isn't always the parent's fault

So many people fail to realize that a child can have a true mental illness that causes them to be violent or act in ways that are unacceptable.  Everyone always wants to think that the child must have been abused, that there are bad things going on at home, or the parents encourage or allow such behavior.  Many times, this is absolutely not true.  Sometimes parents are at their wits end not knowing what to do with their child that seems so out of control.

The fact is, there are great parents that produce awful kids at no fault of their own.

There are also completely horrible parents that produce wonderful kids through no accomplishment of their own.

This made me think of that video you posted from Anderson Cooper with that woman from NC who wants to put the homosexuals behind electric fences. Not that I'm saying homosexuality or bisexuality is a mental illness but nobody really understands that healthy, normal parents can have a child born with something different about them from their birth parents.

This is true. I often forget that it can happen all on its own.

Yeah, I think its usually the parents. Just because they are at their wits end doesn't mean they are trying either, by the way. I know plenty of people who just don't understand why their kids are out of control, when the fault clearly lies with themself.
