I feel like a bad mom. I called poison control.

I feel horrible. I was cleaning up a spill and my dd climbed up on the couch and grabbed the pedia lax suppositories and ran into her room with them. She squeezed one and a little hot on her arm, the lids were still on though so I didn't think she swallowed any. I still freaked and called poison control. They said if she did swallow any it would be fine it would just make her go poop in the next few hours because it would take longer then used the normal way. I still feel like shit though. I couldn't stop crying. If I had just put them straight in the cabinet after using one then this would not have happened.
Has anyone ever had to call poison control?

My son had got in the fridge where I had antibiotics stored. He drank what was left in the bottle ( it was half full). I cried for hours. He got the childproof cap off (he is three), what was worse was that my husband didn't believe that he opened the bottle, yelled at me the hole works. Then a few days later he got it out of the fridge and opened it up again. (we were right there to stop him) I think my DH felt like an asshole.

My daughter got glitter nail polish in her eyes whEn she was 2, so I called. I was scared she'd go blind or something.

Don't feel bad. Accidents happen.

I did once. He got a hold of the Windex outdoor window cleaner. I could smell it on him, but didn't know if he actually ingested any.

He was fine and they were super nice.

You're a good mom for calling posion control...that's what they are there for.  I called when my DS was two years old and sitting on the floor putting sunscreen on, but the fact that is was all around his mouth (and I thought he might've eaten some) made me call.  They said he might have loose bowels, but would be fine.

Yes I may have over reacted but I would rather be safe then sorry. I wanted to make sure just in case if she did swollen any.

It happens kids are quick and accidents do happen no need to beat yourself up over it most if us has had to do it. Hugs

I have had to call many times. The most resent this morning. My fucking mother left her pills on her bed not in a bottle or anything with my 2 year old in the room. She takes methodone, oxycodone, and Valium. He put the methodone in his mouth along with cymbalta. Called poison control, took him to the ER, and spent the next 4 hours with a child that acted like he had nothing in his system running around as best he could with a bunch of wires hooked to him. After a couple of hours the nurses and the doctor didn't think he got enough to do anything in his system because he was acting fine.

Oh my goodness that is scary.

Yep, at the same time I discovered my middle DD could undo child-proof caps. She ate and fed her little sister 1/2 a bottle of echinacea....I was in the bathroom for maybe 5 minutes....BTW, echninacea won't hurt them!
