Would you refuse a nurses care if you did not like them?
I was in nursing school and had to stop going for personal reasons. I found out that I girl I despised graduated recently and is working on the labor and delivery floor of the hospital I will be delivering at in a couple of months.
I do not want this girl anywhere near my baby or delivery, she was very incompetent when it came to her patients and always found a way to get out of doing correct patient care. The teachers never saw how bad she was in clinical's because they were so busy, but a lot of us saw how she was and I really do not want her assisting in anyway.
Would you let her be your nurse knowing that she is rude and you do not like each other? We butted heads a lot because she was always pushing her work on others and even admitted that she did not like nursing and was only in it because of the pay. I know there is a chance I will not get her but since it is a small hospital there is a very good chance I will and I am trying to decide if I should say I do not want her because of personal reasons and patient confidentiality.
Also, as a factor when I had my first child there the poor nurse had to do most of the delivery and the doctor just showed up at the point of crowning so she may with us for the entire time or length of her shift.
