Movin' here from back West was a real big culture shock, to say the least.
I had never seen such an impoverished area. It blew me away!! And after livin' here for four years, I am still in shock and see new and crazy stuff every day.
I have lived in a lot of places (states and towns) but this place beats all. Most everyone is dirt poor and they really don't seem to care. Not only poor but ignorant as well (and again, they don't care about either). Drug use, alcohol, theft, murders, abuse of children, unemployment, low payin' jobs...it goes on (actually there have been more MURDERS in this town in three years then all of the places we've lived put together! And it's normal here:(
We plan to move back to MT soon. Much better jobs, people...just all around better!
Do you like the area you live in? Have you noticed a difference in culture if you have moved to different areas of the country?
Positive thoughts are like ripples in a pond...they spread:)
Bloggin' mama of 4 livin' the dream on Second Chance Acres
Redneck and proud!!!
I am very comfortable where I live. I have lived in many states and have been cultures shocked too.

I love where we live, we have 10 acres it is peaceful and the kids can run and play and I have awesome places for photoshoots and it is where we are building our dreamhome. When we do go into town everyone knows your name, smiles and says hi, I love it!
