Awwww, it isn't a crazy post.... How dare such a blood thirsty breed of dog be so loving and attentive to a person.... :)
A pit bull from Lawrenceville, Ga., is being celebrated as a hero after he saved his master's wife--not once, but twice.
John Benton was headed out to work one day in July 2011 when the 6-year-old dog, Titan, started behaving strangely.
"He was barking and growling and then ran down the steps and got between me and the door," Benton told Fox5 in Atlanta. Benton turned around and went upstairs. There he found his wife, Gloria, had a brain aneurysm, and had fallen and suffered what turned out to be a skull fracture.
"The doctors said that if it had not been for this dog, if he had let me leave that house, she would have either bled to death or the aneurysm would have killed her," Benton told the TV station.
And just eight weeks ago, Titan again came to the rescue of Gloria Benton, the station reported. Early one morning, Titan woke John Benton, who discovered his wife had fallen and broken her hip.
For his heroics, the Humane Society of the United States honored Titan as its second runner up for the fifth annual Dogs of Valor Awards.
Gloria Benton, who hadn't been so keen on having a pit bull in her house, has grown quite fond of Titan.
"He is so special," she told the TV station. "And you just can't give him enough love. He loves to be loved on."
I am so happy to hear these positive stories about pitbulls!! All they ever talk about on the news, is when one attacks and seriously injures/kills someone!!! GRRR!! Not "ALL" pitbulls are killers as Titan has clearly proven!! Way to go Titan!! I think he deserves a big, juicy steak!!!
What a special dog. I have fallen many times because of a disability and my dog gets so upset and barks and barks until someone can help me. I fell down the steps at home once when I was here by myself. I had my cell phone in my pocket and called 911. My dog barked and barked until the paramedics came and then barked like crazy when they came in and were touching me.....he is very possessive for being a jack russell. I call him my little protector.
Pits are very protective over the ones they love. Its strangers that have to worry. They are intense when protecting the group.
Dogs are amazing creatures if we let them be amazing creatures. In a good way i mean.
Even being a stranger, I have never met a mean pit... I have met 5 pit bulls, between 3 different owners, and they were the most loving animals ever... Not one of them barked or growled... They are ALL great with DD... One of them was found in the desert where I live, he is a BIG pit, he loves DD so much it is funny.... He constantly tries to lick her face and play hide and seek... They met when she was about 6 months old and he was so curious about the new little wiggly thing I brought over. He kept looking over the side of the couch to see what DD was :)

A well trained and loved dog would not attack unless he/she sensed imminent danger against himself
Or his owner. That doesn't include some random stranger walking down the road
