Ignore it.
He is a kid going through things he probably doesn't understand and is acting out like 4 year old tend to do!
Wow, I hope you learn to get off your high horse. People who judge make me crazy. My youngest who is 2.5 has autism, sometimes if she is having a melt down or over whelmed there is no "trying something else". You do not know what is going on with that little boy- Sorry all kids can't be perfect like yours.
They probably don't feel comfortable beating his ass in the middle of the cafeteria.
I'm not defending them persay but kids have meltdowns. When they have a meltdown at home it is much easier to deal with. In public, not so much. They can't send the kid to the corner or timeout, they can't spank, they can't just leave, they can't yell cause someone will call cps in a heartbeat. I'd probably find a bathroom to take him to, but with their dd being in the hospital they are probably just drained.
There are different parenting styles to hold what you would have done to the standards of others in ridiculous. Was it appropriate ? Of course not, but the parents were not ignoring it they were simply handling it the way they decided to. For all you know that boy might have been autistic, he could be stressed over his sister, he could be hyperactive, or he might just be a kid who is having fun and being a little vulgar as children often are. so PERSON PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE LIVES OF OTHERS BEFORE IT IS YOU WHO IS GETTING JUDGED.
Wow...sounds like the kid is in control of the parents.

Sounds like a nurse needs to come over and give that kid a shot in the ass that will knock him out :P ;) lol Breathe, mama :) Be thankful it's not your kid and that you are a parent who isn't afraid to discipline. Your kid will turn out much better in the long run for it.
