Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

Honest opinions please, what would you think if you got this as a baby present?

A bear scene fuzzy fleece blanket with the fringe edges (lap blanket size, so big enough to lay on the floor for tummy time and then to grow into) then matching (cut from the same cloth) camo booties and a hat with blaze orange fleece linings. For a boy who will be born in the middle of hunting season to very outdoorsy parents...

(the person who made them is a beginner with the sewing machine so be gentle)

yeah... i keep looking at it and looking at it. Still looks knotted.

And any fringe is bad for infants. I make tons of blankets for Project Linus and they will not accept any infant/toddler blankets with fringe or knots. Regardless of length.

I was just pointing out the safety hazard but whatevs. I'm just saying if I got that at my baby shower, I wouldn't use it until my child was 3 or older.

Quoting Anonymous:

its not knotted.. and the fringes are fairly short

Quoting -JC-:

i vote no. those fringe blakets are not good for infants. they can choke on the knots.

Otherwise, whatever. If it's what they like, go for it.

If that is what the parents like then it would be a great present imo

My  instant thought of the picture, "Are we going hunting?" It's pretty, I love to make tie blankets and the booties and hats are cute. :)

I think it's hideous. But if you like that stuff, it's fine :)

Sounds fitting to very outdoorsy parents. The person sounds like they know you and put a lot of thought and effort into the gift. Obviously, your family is country and they know that. They also sound like they don't have money, so made up for it with a thoughtful, personal gift.   I'd never give someone a sewn present if I didn't have sewing skills though. Personally, I am not country, so it wouldn't be suited to me, but it obviously is to you.
