Part of my 13 year old sons chores is that he give my 6 month old & 4 year old a bath, and get them ready for bed..every night. My MIL won't shut her mouth about how wrong this is...why is it so wrong? He's fully capable...he also walks my 4 yr old to preschool daily so I can catch a nap with the baby. I'm so sick of her complaining, someone tell me these are fine chores for a teen..

While I think a 13 year old is capable of bathing the younger kids, I don't think it should be his chore. If there was a day that you were very busy he could help out but I woulnd't have him doing it regularly. Bathing your children is part of parenting. The parents should do the parenting.

Helping with the kids is okay. Helping doesn't mean laying on your ass while he does the work.
