Ok on the hospitals dime is not the right phrase. However some hospitals do not track the distribution of their formula supply (not the free samples). Women choosing to have the hospital supply their formula are depleting the hospitals supply that is needes for emergency cases. Why take formula from a child that needs it just because you dont want to buy a can before you go to the hospital. Regardless of whatever reason..saying that this takes away youre right to ff is dramatic.
There are FF "rules"???
Wow, things have changed since I gave birth.
Yes, I know - I'm old.
What are these new rules? The only thing I heard is some drama about no more free samples.

Women are claiming the new ff eules in hospitals are robbing them of their right to ff.

I haven't been following - what is the point most mothers are trying to make?

the subject doesn't bother me one way or another. I do however think you have missed the point most mothers are trying to make about it.
the good ole FF v/s BF debate. the Breast is best people feel this is a huge win for their side of the debate and the FF's feel they are somehow being denied their right to use formula.

Interestingly enough, this is just one more thing I don't care about.
Well, I guess when I think about it both times they sent me home with lots of formula samples in my "breastfeeding support kit" Lol.
Quoting Anonymous:
Some do monitor the distribution to the parent..but other hospitals dont. They just give em out cause the formula compsny gives them the single serving samples.
Quoting MandiK:The formula in the hospital is free? I thought they charged people?
Yep. It's not always listed as a seperate charge. It is often just included in the charge for having a bed/room in the hospital.
Quoting TSNDDY:
Your hospitals charge you for food while you are admitted?
(Canadian here)
Quoting JTROX:LOL Hospitals charge for formula, just as your bill includes charges for the food they feed you.
Quoting Rileyscute:Don't the formula companies distribute the formula to hospitals as a freebie anyway..they want to give you a sample so you will choose that brand to feed with.
about the rest..meh
Quoting Anonymous:OP your ignorance is showing. Hospitals charge for the stuff. Alot of times formula companies give freebie stuff for you to take home.
