First off, I am a Christian and a sinner. Homosexuality is one of a multitude of sins mentioned in the bible. No one of them is less a sin than any other. I alone will have to answer for mine and I will have a lot of explaining to do, believe me. Others' sins are between them and God and not my concern. Secondly, freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. Many of our ancesters came here from countries with a state mandated formal religion. My ancestors, catholics, were forced to pay heavy penalties for not attending the Church of England until they had lost everything and had no other option but to flee to America. Finally, marriage, a committed relationship between a man and a woman. What's the primary concept here? Man and woman? I think not. It's committed relationship. I do not understand how gay marriage would undermine the sanctity of marriage as long as they are committed to each other. What is undermining marriage is people who lack the commitment to each other and are ready to bail at the first sign of trouble or someone else catches their eye.
