This doesn't help me get over being racist

Living in Baltimore, with the high crime rate and drugs, ect. I have increasingly became more racisit. I haven't been racist my entire life, as a matter of fact I was married to a black man. But things keep getting worse and worse here with crime, our neighborhoods are falling down with filth and trash. I actually just moved to an area where it is all white, so I would feel safer, stretching our budget to its limit, to do so.
I do however, still work in the city. This morning I parked across the street from my work, which is the only place to park. Walked across to the front door, stuck the key in and was slammed into the door by a man, who was trying to get into the door with me. I was able to elbow him and step on his foot hard to back him down a bit and get in the door. He fought me, pushing the door, and actually put a large crack in the door from him pushing it. I let go of the door and ran to the key pad and hit panic. He heard the alarm and ran.
I'm sure he was seeking drugs, we are an animal hospital.
I don't want to only see the bad in black people but I just can't see any redeeming qualities of the ones that live in Baltimore. I'm so angry!
Please tell me you are joking. So if he had been any other race would you still feel the same, omg!
There are several ethnic people here that I can't stand and honestly, I feel a little threatened being approached by some of them. That said, I don't really judge a few people by their color. I guess many people here do, though, as gentrification has started to take place and they're pushing the bad neighborhoods into another city.
Its not a race problem but an economic one. Less jobs = more crime. Im sorry you feel to blame color on a problem that is about jobs.
