My feelings on people protesting chick fila (sp) **EDIT***

I don't get the point or reasoning is protesting them because they don't support gay marriages, or relations.

It's their belief. Just as it is your belief, if you do believe in gay marriage and or relations.

I don't believe in gay marriage or relations. I don't support it, however that doesn't mean that I will treat anyone who is gay different or mean.

I'am a business owner, and I wouldn't stop someone who is gay from coming to my business. But at the same time, I won't be voting for gay marriages to be passed.

I have a gay uncle, and I love him to death! he is a wonderful man, I respect him for many things! Just because I don't agree with gay relations, doesn't change my views on him in any way.

Not everyone is going to agree with what everyone else does.

I don't agree with people who allow their children to watch scary movies, or movies with drug use. Doesn't mean I'm going to treat them any differently, or that I'm going to protest their house because they do allow it. It's their choice, their belief. It's just not mine.

Another thing to think about is this, just because someone openly admits they don't support gay union, doesn't mean that another business who isn't admitting to it does.

Let's say for example that Walmart doesn't support gay unions, just because they havent' said it , doesn't mean they do. t's just something to think about. We all have our beliefs and views, not everyone will agree with the next person.,

This talk of them having a kiss in at the chick fila, is just stupid! Because gay people get so upset when a straight person say's it's their choice to be gay, and they shouldn't be gay. The gay person usually says something along the line of 'stop trying to push your beliefs on me'! Well having a kiss in is YOU doing just that! Pushing your beliefs on someone else...

I have NOTHING against gay people, hell I have nothing against anyone who goes with what THEY feel is right. As long as it's not hurting anyone, then WHO CARES?!

And chick fila saying they don't support gay unions IS NOT hurting anyone, it's them stating their beliefs, just as any gay voices their belief...

SO PLEASE GET OVER YOURSELF FOR GETTING BUTT HURT OVER NON-SENSE

For those saying you don't want to spend your money at a place who is against gay marriage, because they pay 'hate groups'.... Well then you may want to think about not spending your money anywhere! I'm sure they are plenty of places that DONT support gay marriage, they just haven't said it and made it public... So your protesting is truly in-valid and ignorant...

If you don't like how they dis-agree with you, then Dont go there. It's that simple, but you are trying to force your beliefs on them when you protest. It all sounds like two 5 year olds trying to one up the other. very inmature and sad!

Gay people are lost souls who need Jesus?!?!?! Oh fuck off!

Quoting mhoelzer2988:

Everyone who isn't in support of gay marriage most likely are simply going by what the Bible says because that's what they 'BELIEVE" in. We didn't write the book, we just believe in it because we don't want to spend eternity in hell. If God had said it was okay to marry the same sex then we'd be all for it but that's not the case. Why can't we all just get along? Gay or not? I don't hate gay people. They're just lost souls that need Jesus. I have a gay cousin. I don't hate him. God said:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (NIV).

so see? gay people are not any worse than alcoholics, drug heads, cheaters, etc. The owner of Chikfila is simply stating what he is against and I'm sure he would say he's against selling alcohol at his business also but I bet there wouldn't be a huge stir over that like gays. For some reason gay people are so defensive. They think christians hate them but they're wrong. It's actually just the opposite. Jesus told his children to love everyone equally and if we as christians don't do that then we're not true christians. Please people, stop twisting things and making it worse than it is.

An understanding of the basic concept of social justice often escapes those who are too caught up in their own agenda to remove their blinders and actually see.

So you love your uncle but you don't think he should have the same rights as everyone else because he is gay? I can't take you seriously.

“The best principles of our republic secure to all its citizens a perfect equality of rights.” ~ Thomas Jefferson.

"...he said, as he knocked up Sally Hemings." THE END.

No but seriously, if that actually happened, that would be awesome.

 Right, this!

They are giving money to hate groups. If you eat there you are giving money to hate groups. This is not a complicated concept.

Damn.  Now I wish I had made that comment.  LOL!  It's really special to think that Jesus loves me.  So does Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy.  I have yet to hear from the Great Pumpkin.

I fully support everyone's right to believe as they see fit.  The problem isn't one of "belief".  It's one of restricting the rights - rights that are granted under the 14th Amendment - to specific groups of people, and giving money to those groups that seek to continue restricting civil rights.

I won't protest. I respect people's views BUT one side is progression and one side is oppression. Our country has always worked to progress. If they have the right to speak & protest, state their views; I sure as hell do as well.
