I got married at 19 had my first child at 20 and my second at 23 and my marriage is falling apart because I didn't get to know my husband before jumping into this relationship. I was not emotionally ready for marriage and children and now I'm with a controlling asshole and I'm a sahm with no family/friends or resources to leave. I just wonder if this happens to a lot of women whoare not mature enough for such adult relationships?

If they aren't mature enough or ready for the commitment, that is absolutely what will/can happen. Whether they are young or not. Hope you can figure things out momma.

I married at 19 and had our first at 27, marriage is fine. Marriages take work. Good luck.

I can only share what I have seen with friends/family. The majority that got married young did not make it until they reached middled aged together, most divorced by their 30's. That's just been what I have seen amongst the people that I know.
Me. I've been with my SO 21 years, never married. We are in our late 40's.

You've got the problem right, it's maturity which has nothing to do with age. And I'm not being mean, it's great you realize it. Now the question is, what are you going to do about it?
