Are there any rational, NON-RELIGIOUS arguments against gay marriage?

Really, is there any completely non religious reason gay people should not be allowed to marry? I have never seen a non religious person say they are against it.

The studies were pretty much like the autism vaccine study. Data was manipulated to show instability. There were no married homosexuals in the study. It showed childrem felt more stable when parents were married, yet was done without any married gay couples. Also didn't account for heterosexuals in an unstable marriage or relationship. Follow up studies have shown that effects in children are only when the relationship of the parents are not stable.

I'd like to see those studies kelly913.
Quoting areyouatroll:

So what about the fact that children in a household with a female couple are less likely to be abused?

Quoting Kelly913:

There are reports from secular studies showing that societies that embrace homosexual relationships soon die off.  The same studies show the extreme advantage a child has when growing up in a stable heterosexual home, and the related benefits to society.

There are no valid arguments for this at all. Even religious ones are not valid.

Abomination in the bible mean frowned upon, not sinful.

Why call it a civil union? I don't understand the difference between the two. Is it because "marriage" is religous or something?

Quoting Anonymous:

So why not call it civil union instead of marriage?

There are enough studies already done that most children become what they live...

If you can't debate this like an adult then we will leave it how it stands

But you can not prove YOU are right!

Quoting Anonymous:

Well...... That's your right. But I knew, no one would have a valid argument, that would prove me wrong.

It is what it is

Quoting godsavethequeen:

Meh, I'm not going to try and prove an anon wrong, especially one who is just making stuff up for drama.

Quoting Anonymous:

I don't understand how my theories don't make sense to you?

I am not making this up for drama... This is what I believe. Unless you can prove me wrong i'm entitled to my opinion

Quoting godsavethequeen:

Your opinions and theories are so shocking, I actually think you are making them up purely for the drama! I hope so!

Quoting Anonymous:

I know they can have kids now but if they are allowed to marry there will be more children being raised by homosexuals

Quoting kitty8199:

They can have kids, now. They just can't marry.

I grew up with a kid with e moms. I worked with a gay couple that adopted.

Quoting Anonymous:

Not necessarily. As I stated some are truly born that way.

All kids learn different. Two children raised in the same home can and usually learn completely different things.

If a child is sexually abused growing up moor often than not do they become an offender or a lifetime victim.

Same with physical abuse, alcholism, drug addiction.... The list goes on,and on.

Allowing same sex marriage and the raising of children is only reinforcing the "they become a product of their environment " theory.

I'm saying by allowing homosexuals to marry and have children you will mitt likely be raising more homosexuals.

Quoting kitty8199:

You said kids learn by example. So gay parents will raise gay kids.

Nope. They sure won't. Explain how there are gay people now, then. If they learn by example wouldn't everyone be straight?

Quoting Anonymous:

I didn't want to argue w your comment you obviously did not throughly read what I said not comprehend it. So your argument is invalid to me.

Quoting kitty8199:

Nice rebuttal

Quoting Anonymous:

Nice try....

Quoting kitty8199:

Ok. So let's ban marriage unless you have kids.

And sexuality isn't taught. It is something you're born with.

Just because your parents are gay doesn't make you gay.

If that was the case no one would be gay because most parents are straight.

Quoting Anonymous:

Procreation anyone?

How are two people of the same sex suppose to have a child? You say that they will raise the abandoned children. The ones put up for adoption ect.

But how many of you gay marriages supporters. Come to this site every Week and many of you come in here every day and spew off about the way heterosexuals raise there children. Bashing if a mother or father drinks in front of there child or if they swear, eat poorly, on pa, Dinny know how to budget, don't use car seat, don't vax, don't go to church..... The list goes on and on and the NUMBER ONE REASON FOR YOUR ARGUMENT........

(Wait for it)

Children will become, the way they were raised. They well curse swear steal not vax,, or go to church.....or whatever the argument is. THAT CHILD WILL LEARN BY EXAMPLE, AND BECOME A PRODUCT OF THEIR UPBRINGING.....

so how is it any different for homosexuals raising a child? If all that child sees at home, (where most ideas of relationships form) is same sex couples, what do u think they are going to learn. Yes a lot if people are born that way, but most people aren't. Children learn by example and if a child is surrounded by homosexuals as a lifestyle, it is more likely they will eventually venture into homosexuality. Which nearly would be fine..... But after several hundred thousand years, people evolve and become like and adjusted to there surroundings. To fit in. so eventually homosexuality could very well mean the end of normal reproduction if human beings.

This is what I believe. Either that out its just a fad.

thanks, already knew who Darwin was. I was just trying to see if this assertion as as ridiculous as it seemed to be.

Quoting Anonymous:

Darwinist - follower of Darwinism

Dar·win·ism  (därw-nzm)

n.
A theory of biological evolution developed by Charles Darwin and others, stating that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. Also called Darwinian theory.
Quoting autodidact:

where are you getting this malarkey? who are "the darwinists?"

homosexuality IS natural. it occurs in nature, and is found in over a thousand species

Quoting Anonymous:

Yes, Darwinists are against it because male and female of ANY species are supposed to reproduce.  Even in nature, animals choose mates of opposite sex.  There are no animals who mate for life with the same sex.  Now, humans are wanting to change the natural way of science and nature.  If everyone were gay, teh human race would die out and become extinct.

Quoting singlemom1208:

I've read the Darwinist are against it. I could be wrong though

Excuse me anon but please don't imply I'm acting childish by asking you to prove being gay is a product of your surroundings. Yes, studies show if you grow up with an alcoholic parent, you're more likely to become an addict or if you're abused you become an abuser but these cases are about psychological problems and diseases, which being gay is neither! Children may experiment with the same sex but being a child and adolescent is all about experiment. It does not make you gay! Now, please show me a valid study proving growing up with gay parents makes you gay!

Is that adult enough for you?

There is no such thing as a Darwinist.  It's only Christians--who tend to disregard Charles Darwin's actual scientific work, never having read it--who misappropriate Darwinian principles to justify their bigotry.
