Would a hospital still have my prenatal records from 2003? hosptials dont throw records out do they?
There are laws on how long they have to hold it.
I can't remember its been forever since I had to pull records or even know laws.
But I would believe so I think its a minimum of 10 years.
I'm sure they do. My ped (from when I was a kid) still had my files when we needed them to compare notes for DD...that was nearly 30 years ago.
Quoting mommy092011:
What do they do with then after time frame is up?
depends on the state. Here in GA they hold on to records for 10 years then they get shredded.
They would be computerized and you can request them anytime you want.
