My parents never laid a hand on us, EVER and I survive too....still respect my parents, still am not a pos drain on society....so I guess it goes both ways...

I got beatings and survived. But I don't spank my kid. But he's much more behaved than I was. I just choose not to go that route.

Most people who were hit as children survived, it's rare for parents to go far enough to actually kill their kids. Still doesn't make child abuse OK.
