My Love/Hate Relationship with my Kindle Fire UPDATE on Pg. 3

I originally got my Kindle in March. I'm always careful with electronics. Well 2 months down the road, it wouldn't charge anymore. I called amazon & they replaced it. I had my 2nd one for 2 weeks, barely used it (which defeats the purpose IMO) & it stopped charging too. I called Amazon AGAIN. They replaced it again. Here it is August & now my 3rd is doing it too. The port is loose & my kindle won't charge. I have been super anal about this one, seriously. WTF is wrong with them? I have NEVER had this much trouble with an electronic device before. I've also had to restore to default setting & redownload everything, mulitple times. My books & apps will stop working... Amazon has been very understanding, but they need to fix this shit! As much as I like the internet & app options on the Fire, I wish I'd have just gotten a Keyboard instead. GRR. My sister has a Keyboard & has never had a single problem with it.

you should just get the new google nexus tablet! It's $200 and you can download the amazon kindle app, which is free and read all your books on that! I'm ordering it next week, I've heard nothing but great things about it from everyone!

You might want to do it while its still charging a little. As soon as you connect your new one to your Amazon account, all apps & books will show up in the cloud, you just have to tap them & redownload. It's actually fairly quick. The only reason I hate it so much is because I don't have internet, so I have to go to a friends & do it all ASAP.

That's what mine is doing right now.

I'm waiting til it won't charge at all anymore, I don't want to have to re-download everything again.

We are having the same issue with our kindle fire, it'll charge but the charger has to be in the port prefectly.

Just don't use your kindle charger on your phone. The kindle charger has a higher voltage because kindles have bigger batteries. It fried my phone :(

Quoting CutieCrab:

Also my phone charger and kindle charger are basically the same. Lol

I'd love the number dd's fire has been doing the same thing. What do I need for them to send us a new one?

Quoting Anonymous:

UPDATE: I called Amazon...yet again. And they will be sending me another replacement Kindle & a return label so I can send #3 back. I asked them if I could downgrade to a Kindle Keyboard 3G instead (which I figured they might, because a Keyboard is a lot cheaper). They said NO. :( Well wish me luck with Fire #4 I guess. I hope it works this time. Also, if any of you want Amazon's #, I'll be more than happy to share....since it is saved as a contact in my phone...

I'm frustrated with Amazon as well. I got a Kindle and a month and a half after my 1-year warranty expired, I turned it on and half the screen looks like scratches. I caled customer service and all they told me is that since the warranty expired, they could send me another one at a discount price of $85, plus shipping. Well, I'm in Mexico, so shipping is expensive, I can't afford it! So now I'm Kindle-less after a little bit over a year and no means to get a new one. I'm pissed and disappointed and even though we're still trying to get a better response, I'm not optimistic. So what if buy a new one and 13 months from now it does the same thing? I bought a Kindle to have it for years, I can't afford to pay for a new one (even at their "discount price") every year...

My Cruz tablet is like that. -________- I'm finding that now mine will charge BUT when I take it off the charger, it won't last more than a day even if it's not being used. D:
