Thread for those who are not dirt poor!
Since the PA people are always sharing with us all the great things they do with "their money" (lol) I would start a thread for those of us who do not use government assistance.
Please tell me about your house, your cars, vacations, schools your kids attend, camps, extra curricular activites, sports, etc.
I'd love to hear about the good life instead of always being dragged down by the "woe is me" crowd!
We save. We save for our children's future and our own.
Just b/c we have the money, doesn't mean we spend it. Materialism is something I'm trying not to teach my kid(s). So instead we teach proper money management, especially since we have gone through some tough times (job loss, income loss, etc).
Ummm, hmmm well we bought a new car at the beginning of June. It's a Lincoln navigator. I love it, Im quite impressed. And the payments are great.
And, my husband and I just booked a trip to Washington DC at the end of January for our anniversary. Haha, it's just somewhere both of us want to go, never been. And we are planning on taking the kids to Disney LAND (not world) because it's cheaper next Summer and we got our information packet and planning book in the mail this week.
That is all I guess. Oh, I got a pedi. Yesterday and picked out a really bright neon pink. I normally would never do that, but I'm kinda loving it.
we live in a 4 bedroom cape in a great town in Mass. My sons went to great public schools. My sons were big into sports. To allow them to participate some years my husband and I both worked 2 jobs. We were good with that we didn't see as Oh poor us. We saw it as we can earn all this extra money so our boys can be involved in sports. We also used it for vacations. Our family has been on cruises, trips out of the country, Disney , we rent a cottage on Cape Cod every year. We have rented big houses with elevators their own swimming pool and Jacuzzis in NC. WE have worked hard and our hard work has paid off. we paid about $6,000 a yr for my son to play football in HS. My son ended up with a full scholarship to a University that costs $50,000 yr. Saving us over $250,000(5yr university)"life is Good"
I used to have a mini van and we actually miss it a lot! My husband is looking for a new vehicle and I can't talk him into it, lol. For some reason he thinks he should be driving an F250.

We live well. My girls go to a nice public school as I hate private schools. Our 4 bedroom house works for now. We have a mini van that fits 7 that we love. My girls go to school year round so it can be hard to plan vacations. I have been a sahm for over 13 years which I would not trade for anything. I get what I want when I want it.
Then we gots us a big shack by the crick. Wes gots us a big nice porta potty that my dh got when him was doing that munity service when he'd stoled that ham, cuz wes spents our fs moneys at burger kings.
Then wes gonna gos on vacations in ours big trucks. We likes going to the river.
