Hey Vacationing Mommas!

My ds (5) has been asking to go to the beach, and he loves Mickey.  So I was thinking that for next years vacation would go to Daytona and stay the week beach front, with a day pass to Disney World and Sea World (which he loved last time we went).

Any tips or suggestions on places to stay, deals, ect? We've not been to Floriday in about three years, and last time we stayed in a condo, we were looking to go a little cheaper this time.  I was thinking the second week in June.

Also, provided travel, lodging, and event tickets are paid for upfront, how much more money would you bring? Keep in mind that would be spending money and food.  I was thinking like $1500 for the week? Last time we spent almost 5 grand, and I would like to NOT do that again, lol.

I'm excited already! :D

We did a vacation package to Orlando through Expedia. Airfare, a vacation rental and passes to 3 parks were all included. At the time it was just the hubs and I but it was pretty cheap as I remember. We just bought groceries and ate at the rental.

Edited to add apart from groceries I doubt we even spent an extra 300 while we were there.

As a floridian, i would not recomend staying in orlando. Will you be renting a car here? If so, stay in a neighboring city. Also, some hotels/condos have kitchenettes. I know cooking on vacation sounds like a drag, but even if you made lunches you would save $

We went to Disney Hilton head that was a lot of fun, DIsney Vero Beach is fun too if you want Mickey without as much chaos.

Thanks so much for the help!  I love Florida, I'm super jealous of you!  I don't want to stay in Orlando, I was hoping for beach front, maybe Daytona, and just driving into Orlando two days.  The kitchenette is a great idea! I'll make sure we have one where we stay.  Any suggestions on places to stay or companys to contact? Last time we used "vacation rental pros" and it worked out well, but we had a huge condo and we don't need that much space this time.

I would love Mickey without the chaos lol.  I HATE Disney World, but ds would love it.  I'm not sure he's even big enough for rides and things, he's only about 39 inches tall.  Do you know about height requirements on the rides?  I'll have to google what you've mentioned, because honestly I know very little about Dinsey, I've only been once and I was a kid.  Thanks for your advice!

Please, do NOT be jealous! I live in tampa so even though i live on the bay, i have a decent drive to a real beach. Ugh and im seriously dreading the RNC this month. Slide me a fork so i can tab my eyes out! Its hot here. Our power bill is way too much! 200 a month for a damn apt. plus auto insurance in a tourist state SUCKS!

They are both Disney resorts, but not at walt Disney world. Most things at Magic Kingdom he can ride, but it's soo busy during Summer. Check in the Disney! Group on here they have a ton of good info. If you need a link let me know.
