I would call her dr and see if they can help. Why did she run out of her meds?
sweetie, I think you need to get her some help asap. Can you call her doctor??? This is NOT normal behavior, she needs her meds. She could easily be a danger to herself or to someone else. Please seek help immediately!
If you can't talk to he Dr, you can always call the local mental health facility for your area. They often have outpatient services that can see her or can refer you to someone who can. They usually have information on what to do for her, as well to minimize or react to her outbursts that may help you to deal with her.
Usually, if she is not threatening to harm herself or others, they won't take her for a 48-72 hour emergency hold. It depends on the severity of her symptoms. Every state is different. You could always call the backline to the police department for more information on what constitutes that in your area.
Often, when someone who has been taking meds for a mental disorder stop taking them, the symptoms and behaviors will be worse than if they were never taking them, until their brain chemistry levels out. With people who have BPD, the leveling out period is often longer or more severe symptomatically than some others disorders, due to the way their brain chemistry is before any treatment.
I'm sorry for your family. Having a person with BPD in your family is very difficult sometimes.
If you fear for your safety, please call the police if you have no other recourse. Consider it a last resort, if necessary.
