Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

I've noticed that some people can't tell the difference...

Posted by   + Show Post

They interpret my lighthearted teasing and poking as bitchiness.  Just in general, I am teasing and poking fun the way I would with my friends.  I sometimes feel bad when people think I am actually being mean to them.  My lighthearted teasing comes across much better in person.  It is hard to make that tone clear in text.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Me either, unless someone is already being mean then sometimes I dish it back out.  Even then, I very rarely do that.

Always. I never mean to be mean.

IRL it's easy for me but not so much on the internet.

I recently read an article on sarcasm, apparently certain brain injuries and conditions make it difficult to perceive sarcasm. Sooo maybe something's wrong with them if they don't get ya?

I run into sometimes, a lot of the time my sense of humor doesn't make sense.
