Brownie mix instead of cake mix

I had dinner at my parents house.

My mom sent my dad to the store to get cake mix because she has been promising my DS to make cupcakes with him. We had everything mixed together and into half the cupcake tins when I looked at the box to Pre-heat the oven and find out how long they will take to make. When I didnt see a time for cupcakes I turned the box over and saw it was brownie mix and not cake mix...

Has anyone else ever done this?

So you'll have cupcake shaped brownies - much heavier than cupcakes.

No. Cake mix and brownie mix have completely different textures. How did you not notice?

I find that brownies don't rise the same as cupcakes should. GL!

Add an extra egg or two it will be more cake like.

No. I know from the mix alone that it's either brownies or cake.

Too late already in the oven. They were already pouring the mix into the tins before we noticed
