Are you a stay at home mum who wishes she was out @ working? Do you have business ideas but don't know how to execute them due to responsibilities of home, kids or the financial strain? Or r u just happy staying @ home - feel it is a full time job? Or maybe working just doesn't appeal to you?
Do u just feel like your living life to the full or just existing from day to day?

I do. I have this dream of moving back to Kauai and starting my own business, but I can't figure out how to get there. It is frustrating to me because in all my life I finally found a place that I was happy living in one place.  I am nomadic by nature and that was where I wanted to stay put.

There are no drive through coffee stands  anywhere on Kauai. You can't get a coffee until at least 7 am at the local starbucks and if you are just dying for it, you have to go to 711. Have you ever had 711 coffee? Ick.  Sun rises at 6am and I know that I liked getting up before sun rise since it is just gorgeous to watch it rise over the sea. Anyway, I have several places picked out that would be great places to start up a stand and there is even a local coffee plantation that I could get coffee from inexpensively. I just can't get the money together to get there. Housing is sooo expensive and I would have to work 2 jobs just to get started. I have to wait here until I can get through some business classes and figure out a way to get enough money together to afford to really put my best into my idea.  I want to be focused on the stand and not have to worry so much about how to afford to live.

I'm okay with being a sahm. I do want to go back to college, but I would feel weird being in classes with kids the same age as my oldest son.

Are you able to get a business loan if u come up with a full Business plan? Is there a local authority u can approach to present your ideas to that may invest in u?
Sounds like a really good idea you have. I hope ur dream comes true for u x

That's where I need the help. I don't know how to write up a business plan.  I have tried getting a hold of the chamber of commerce in the area and they have yet to get back to me.  I guess seeing all this in writting is inspiring me to try a little harder. I was going to see if any of the local coffee stands where I am living would let me shadow them for a few days to see what it is like in the stand and also how to make the drinks. I have only made espresso and a few mixed drinks at home so I am not completely familiar with the barrista skills I would need. All i know is that there are 60,000 people on the island at any given time and during the busy season, as many as 120,000. Many of the visitors to the island are on different time schedules and from my own experience, not everyone wants to wait until 7 am when there is so much to do and see when visiting. There is a college there that would benefit from having drive thru coffee stands. A hospital with docs and nurses who would enjoy a pick me up on the way to work at 6 am.  I think I am going to talk to an advisor later today that has run her own business and see what she thinks.  Thanks for the positive thoughts!!
