FYI, it's $15 per person after 4, $10 after 6, and I included that in case ppl wanted to come at 6 instead of 5.
it is considered poor manners to invite someone to do something and expect them to pay for it. and Ms. Manners demands that you not ask for gifts in exchange for attendance to a party, and never throw a party with the expectation of gifts, so you might expect some to be upset.
on the other hand, this is what we would do in my family if we were to have an outing aside from the birthday party - but my family would know to expect it by now.
I dont think it is rude. If you arent asking for presents on top of it then its more like you are just getting a group together to go to the park. If any of them think its rude then they dont have to go.
Imo, it is sort of rude because it is a tough situation to put people in. Kids believe it or not do get disappointed not getting gifts.
