Do you think that any 2 consenting adults should be allowed to get married?
Whether or not you are for/against gay marriage, do you think that any 2 consenting adults should be allowed to get married?
For example, say a 31 year old daughter wants her mother to have her health insurance, and she wants to get her mother's social security, shoud a daughter be allowed to marry her mother? And then say that same daughter should be allowed to be married to another person (if you support polygamy), say a man that she loves?
After all they are both consenting adults!
Another example: say an 18 year old boy is in the army and has great health insurance. His brother, age 23, needs a kidney transplant and has no heath insurance. She he be alllowed to marry his brother? That way he would have insurance. Or what if it was just a high school buddy and NOT his brother? Or his cousin?
Also, say a person from Uganda, Africa wants to move to America? A friend (with no romantic connection) offers to marry him/her so that way he/she can have US citizenship. SHould that be allowed?
Also if you support legalizing polygamy, should people be allowed to marry as many people as they want (that way they can get soc security, heath insurance, etc)?
Basically if a couple is 2 consenting adults should they be allowed to get married?
