Would it cross the line if I told my sister

My neice is almost 15 years old. When my neice was about 12 I had mentioned to my sister that my neice had put on quite a bit of weight and it was not baby fat. I said she might want to maybe talk about portion sizes because my neice would eat and eat and her parents would never say anything. They also eat a lot of junk food and drink tons of soda.

My sister said she noticed but did not want to give my neice a complex or eating disorder.

A year after that my neice had told me that her doctor told her she was obese and she seemed heart broken. She then stated she was going to work out every day and her mom was going to do it with her,

Fast forward to now and my neice lost a little of the weight but is still a little pudgy. Here is my issue, my neice does not wear properly fitting clothes. All the things she wears are way too tight and so she ends up looking bigger.

Should I say something to my sister? I cannot afford to buy my neice new clothes or that would be an option. I am hesitant because last time I said something I do think my sister was a little offended but I worry about my neices health.

WWYD?

I cannot afford to go shopping and my sister would probably send my neice with me instead and I would end having to buy her clothes.

It doesn't matter what you tell her mom, SHE has to be on board with changing her wardrobe.

No my neice does not live with me at all but I see them often. We live near eachother.

I am thinking I might keep my mouth shut. I just worry my neice will be made fun of.

I would suggest a girls day out at the back to school sales and I would have the neice try on tons of items. Maybe if your sister see clothes that flatter her daughter she will have a lightbulb moment. If not give your neice a fantastic surprise gift.

Well there isn't much u can do about it you could say that her clothes are a bit tight but its really up to her to get the clothes and the niece to wear the clothes. Sorry.
