Im tired of praying and tired of believing. What has God done for you? Really? Your kids? Uuummm no. You did that. Your job? Again, you did that. How about your SO? Nope, he had nothing to do with that either! Someone in your family lived after a horrible accident? Guess again. The Dr and nurses and that persons will to live gave them another chance.
Footsteps used to be my favorite poem because i always believed that the Lord would carry us in our time of need. I call bullshit now.

Good for you for using your brain and actually questioning your faith. I believe being a sheep and blindly following anything without asking questions is what is selfish.

And this is NOT intended as an insult towards Christians. If she had said she questioned atheism and found God, etc, I would be saying the same thing. One must think for themselves and find their own way and answers.

until science actually can figure out where the spark that begins life comes from ., I would say yeah. God gave me my children since each one is a miracle. God is selfish though, he wants us all for himself and to not worship other gods. Our God is a jealous God(speaking our as a new Christian here). But without God, I would not be sober, I would not have my marriage to my wonderful husband. I would have nothing without what He has given me.

I'm not sure what to tell you.  Questioning your faith is one thing, but turning your back is a different story.  Do you have anyone IRL who you can talk to - someone who has a solid relationship with God, who can help you work through your frustrations?

You're with your husband because you want to be. Youre sober because your stronger than alcohol and drugs. You had a kid because you had sex. Not because God wanted it!!!

by myself I had no hope of gaining sobriety. it took God's help to become sober and remain sober, I did my part, He did his. I had a kid because God gave the fertilized egg that spark of life to begin its journey to becoming my son. I believe my husband was a gift from my God and that He planned our union long before we even were born.

I have what i do because God has become a part of my life and was before I even knew His love and forgiveness.

Sounds like you are a little bitter.  God did not promise that this life would be easy, but He promises to be with us every step of the way.  I've had some heartache in my life...we all have, but I don't turn my back on God when it happens.  I cling to his Word and to Him.  Praying for you, OP!

I was raised by a strict catholic family . Went to Catholic school all 12 years. My Grandmother would die if she heard me but at this point I cant say God has done anything for anyone I know.

What have you done For God?

I am not religious but If believing in something more meaningful than this life gives people hope and gives them something to live for and is helping them to lead a better life I see nothing wrong with it. I just wish someone would be as tolerant I as I am of them. But that would make life boring now wouldn't it if we had nothing to argue over...
