My son was telling me that " at rosas house (old daycare) she handcuffed sissys hands to her feet because she sucks her thumb"

We were at the bus stop and a cop pulled up and arrested a guy. My son asked me "mom whys he putting bracelets on that guy?" I said those are handcuffs, he must have done something bad"

Thats when he told me that Rosa ( their old day care provider) would hand cuff my 2 yr olds hands to her feet because she sucks her thumb and "miss Rosa says sucking your thumb is bad"

He told me before she put bracelets in them when they sucked their thumbs....but now I know what he ment.

I stopped taking them there because my dd started freaking out when we pulled up. To me it was a sign something wasnt right.... And im glad I went witg my gut feeling.

They haven't been there in about 5 months.

is it too late to file a complaint?

I honestly am concerned about this. I dont know if she does this with all thumbsuckers or what. Or if its true. Not calling my son a liar (hes 5) and only time ive caught him in a lie is when the cookies are missing..he says sissy ate then when the evidence is still in his mouth lol.

So my question ... Should I call and report what he told me?

Thanks to the understanding ladies. Im going to cps first thing in the morning. The office is directly across the street from me.

Those of you trying to start drama go else where. Excuse me for being level headed and discussing it with family first and asking for opinions on the matter. like I said he told me this evening and I will be reporting it in the morning.

***update***

We went to cps this morning and I spoke witg a caseworker. They took both kids into separate rooms and interviewed them. The main guy came out and said " we are thankful you came forward about this as soon as he told you. We will update you as soon as we finish our investigation. We will be closing her down until we are able to speak privately to each child"

Oh I won't ! I have nothing to say to her!

Quoting PepperWillow:

ps - even though you may be pissed at her do not call her and say anything to her. it will tip her off that CPS might be coming.

since she still has kids in her care it will def make them want to check her out. no, i do not think you can press charges anymore because all proof is gone but i dunno how that works. you could ask.

Quoting Anonymous:

Ok thank you. I wasn't sure if them being out if there for 5 mo would make it non reportable kwim?

Quoting PepperWillow:

get up early. call cps. they will likely want to interview your children. let them tell the cps lady all about it. cps will then shut her ass down.

that is so disturbing.

Quoting Anonymous:

Yes she does. Shes paid by the state.

Quoting PepperWillow:

he's way too young to lie about that. does she have kids in her care still? call CPS! wonder what else she did.

Call your local Department of Family Services to see who inspects daycares for safety. Tell them what happened and if they can't help you, they will refer you to a department who can.

By the way statute of limitations or not (which you are no where near) You should ALWAYS call the police, especially in regards to kids.

Just because they cant prosecute on your crime (if statute ran out) they may be able to use your testimony to help nail them on other shit to other people, you know?

Call CPS emergency line.

Seriously? This very important situation and all you can do is ask people online if you should turn her in??? Well duh1 You should have as soon as your kid told you about it. So instead you'd rather ask people online (have you called the police yet??? I doubt it!) and whine you can call dd sissy if you want. REALLY!!!???
