Is it because they are embarrassed to sit at a table alone?

I was leaving a place from my lunch break. I got in my car. I looked to my left and someone was sitting in their car eating. I looked to my right and there was another person sitting in their car eating.

It was at Fazoli's.

 I dont know I eat by myself everyday during my work week never bothered me at all but I am a really independant person I go to the movies by myself to that kind of freaks people out  for some reason and I perfer to shop alone too not that I always do these things alone but hey I am good company LOL

I do it when I want to be alone or when I'm exhausted but don't want to drive and eat

Yea if I am getting fast food, I am starving. I don't want people to watch me stuffing my face :)

I do that so I can relax and eat with having to deal with other people and their kids.

When I was a visiting nurse on the road all day I ate in my car @the lunch everyday. I just prefered sitting alone in my car listening to the radio.
I enjoy solitude.

 I did it all the time this summer. I'd get off work around 11, the lobby of Wendy's is already closed, and I want my cheeseburger but don't want to eat it while driving.

I don't like eating out, I feel like people are watching me and judging me. Even at a restaurant I will order a small meal and pick at my plate then take it home and just eat there. I have serious body image issues. I feel so fat and disgusting. I am 5'4 and 148lbs.
