Here is my PSA...
I know as moms we put ourselves on the back burner. While it is easy to find time for the kids to get regular dr check ups and dental cleanings, we just never have time for our own medical needs.
I went to the dentist about once every 2 years for a cleaning. I would ignore them when they'd mention I'd need a filling. Finding a babysitter for a few hours was too much effort for something silly like teeth. Then I broke a back molar. Well, it was not visible to anyone but me and they wanted over $1000 AFTER insurance for the root canal and cap, and I was like, eh, no thanks. Time passed and of course it became infected. It became majorly infected. A course of pennicilin, 2 courses of clyndamycin, and its not getting better while I desperately suddenly try to scrape together money for treatment. Its probably going to end up pulled, and it will be a surgical pull now, and its just a mess. Money aside, my health went to hell.
I have had cronic headaches and migraines and eye pain. I've been to the dr, to the ER, another dr. Finally they figured out my infection that won't go away has spread to my sinuses. I have a major sinus infection. I have a major ear infection. I'm going to lose the tooth, and my dentist can't even do it till the infection is under control. I'm on my FIFTH antibiotic now, I'm paying out the butt for all of these medicines, and the headache from the sinus infection is so bad that it wakes up from sleep WHILE I'm on vicodin for the pain.
Yeah. Go to the dentist. Go every 6 months, get your cleaning, and get every single filling that is suggested IMMEDIATELY. Don't end up like me.
