my sil was 6 weeks pregnant so not very far along but she started bleeding really bad last night but refuses to go to the hospital, she says it isnt her first one and if nothing gets worse she'll just stay home like her other ones. i had to ask my brother how many she had and he said 6!!!! 7 if i count twins separately!!! wow i never knew that, neither of them have ever said what happened until now

would you stay home if you were having a miscarriage?

edit:should we worry about her passing out because of anemia? shes always been anemic and she just had to lay down because she got dizzy and sick

I had an early miscarriage and although I'd gone to the doc initially because of bleeding they said that if it wasn't more than in a normal heavy cycle there was no need to go in. That being said after that many losses they need to see a specialist because that's not normal.

my brother said her last one was right before she got pregnant with their son this is the first one since he was born

1 mom liked this
If the pain was normal, bleeding was normal, and I had no fever, then I would probably wait it out. Pain, too much blood, fever, or past 12weeks I would go in.

Yes, if it was in the 1st trimester.

Yes. The ER treats you like shit. That early on, it's better to grieve in the privacy of your own home.

I have to say, I never went to the hospital when I miscarried.  It isn't necessary for early miscarriage.

I had a miscarriage, and the nurse at the hospital told me I only needed to come if I was bleeding through more than a pad an hour. I was so I went in, and all they did was monitor me for 4 hours and sent me home. If I wasn't bleeding too much with no fever, I would just stay home and follow up with my normal Dr in a few days.
