My DH just told his daughter that he loves her more than he'll ever love anything....

She's not mine, just his. I don't have kids of my own and she lives with us. She's 8 and first thing he does when he gets home from work is go to her and gives her hugs and kisses and tells her he loves her. We just got married, isn't he supposed to love me more???

No, he isn't supposed to love you more.  There are two different kinds of love here.  One is love for a spouse and that is a wonderful thing but something that is worked at and worked on and the other is love for a child that is unconditional and is there from the minute you have them.  Him loving his daughter that much doesn't in any way mean he can't love you as well, it just means he is a good father and the kind of man you should want as a father if you decide to have kids with him.

That's weird to me. Not that he loves his daughter so much (that's wonderful), but that she is always the one he goes to as soon as he gets home.

It's good that he loves his daughter, but it shouldn't get to the point she is lavished with attention while the wife is feeling ignored.

No, he isn't supposed to love you MORE. When I remarry, I will love my husband but I would NEVER love him more than my children. That's just absurd.
