nothing like a pregnancy scare to teach me a lesson

This week I had a pretty bad pregnancy scare. We use the pull out method and I ended up being a few days late. It was just a false alarm but presented with the possibility of pregnancy I spent a lot of time thinking about what I would do. I realized that there is no way I could have another child right now. Financially I wouldn't be able to afford it, I'm too close to getting the degree I've been working so hard on to stop school, and I'd have almost no support.
Thankfully it was just a scare but regardless, as soon as my period is over I'm calling up Planned Parenthood and getting birth control. The pill gives me horrendous headaches but its imperative that I get BC for myself.

Why not try NFP? The headaches are because you're putting garbage into your body.

What is NFP? And why are birth control pills garbage?

Try a different type of bc other than the pill. Not sure how that works with Planned Parenthood or what they offer as options though. Do you have an ob-gyn that you can go to? Or the means to get a regular doc?

The ob-gyn I had been going to was recently fired and I haven't found another doctor in my area that takes my insurance. I'm going to keep looking but I want BC asap. I'm going to ask PP about the other BC options but I have to keep in mind what I can afford to pay out of pocket.

Bc is not good for your body. That's why it causes side effects and health risks.

NFP is Natural Family Planning. You basically track your cycles and check your cervical mucus and teach yourself how to recognize ovulation and when you're fertile. After a few months, you really get the hang of it. There's usually only about a 6 days window out of the month where you're fertile, and if you use condoms or abstain during that time, you can do natural bc. It doesn't cost a dime, doesn't cause any side effects like your headaches, weight gain or whatever else, and has no risks of anything like blood clots, heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer, etc. The drug industry makes millions off of women who can easily prevent pregnancy naturally if they just take a little time teaching themselves how.

So this is basically the 'no vaccination' type of stance but on bc? Interesting ... So do you not take any prescription medications no matter what the reason/situation? Not looking to argue, just honestly curious about your viewpoint.
