Would you ever DROP off your 6 year old child at the dentist off to get a cavity filled? This isn't the first time either this has been happening for a few years. Who in there right mind does this? Is that even legal?

I was getting my teeth cleaned today when all of the sudden I heard a kid bawling his eyes out. I peeked behind and saw them coming from the front. Fast forward....

Child: Where's my mom? She's not here? (coming from the front of the office, he was done and asking the ladies this).

Desk Lady: I'm not sure.. She should be coming. Wait here.

Me: WHAT. His mom left? (I asked this to the assistant cleaning my teeth)

Assistant: Yes he has been left here lots of times over the years. Poor guy crys everytime he comes because his mom leaves.

Child: Starts crying. The dentist made my face feel big and numb. Where's my mom?

I managed a dental office for several years. We would not allow minors get treatment without a parent present the whole visit.

never ever would I leave my child for any kind of appt that was strictly for him. I'm the parent, I'm responsible for whatever happens if I'm not there just as I am if I stay with him!

Never.  I won't even allow her to go back to the treatment area without one of us.

They could, and should, refuse to treat the child if the parent isn't present.
