Anyone use NFP? My fiancé and I are going that route rather than condoms or birth control and I was hoping for some pointers so to speak. I've read up on it and I get the gist of it and I know how to track my periods and ovulation so is there anything else that would be helpful to know?

we aren't using birth control because I got pregnant on loestrin fe and we aren't using condoms because I'm allergic to latex and because we just don't want to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~if we get pregnant using NFP we would both be thrilled, we would just rather wait and until we get married to get pregnant.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[making sure the ones who have told me not to use NFP because i can get pregnant can see the sentence where i stated we would be thrilled if we got pregnant]
I used it and I've gotten pregnant twice using that method. Apparently men can look at me and I get pregnant. Good luck though.
I've used it for years, both to avoid and achieve conception.  I didn't have my first baby until we were married nearly 3 years.  We wanted to wait until DH had finished his PhD and we owned a home.  It worked great.
Well we figured since birth control obviously doesn't work for us we would try that method. We shall see, in all honesty I'd love to get pregnant today but the brain in my head plus his realizes we need to wait a few more months until we are married so I will concede and we will use NFP
The hardest is going to be abstaining or pull out when I'm ovulating. He works out of town two weeks a month and of course when I'm ovulating just so happens to coincide when he's home.
DON'T DO IT! JUST GET CONDOMS! Sorry for yelling but I have two beautiful boys that suprised me when I was using natural family planning. I'm an ideal person for nfp because of how "Regular" i am. I followed all the rules, did all the right things and still got pregnant- twice
Great advice.  And listen to all the cues your body gives.  Mood, cm, basel temp, cramping, etc.  DH and I did it pretty much the whole 1st year of our relationship.  It worked for us because I have a super reliable 28 day cycle and when in doubt, we didn't have sex.  Even he knew my fertile and non fertile days.  It was wonderful.  Also, while doing this, we discussed that it wouldn't be the end of the world if we got pregnant.  In fact, we have had 3 kids since that time.  If it will be the end of the world if you got pregnant, I would suggest you do something more permanente.
Would it work on someone who is "irregular"?
I have no idea on how this works but I was just wondering... :)
