Nothing like a haircut....

...to make you feel better about yourself (unless its a bad haircut).
I've been feeling...bleh about myself. I'm still not used to my post-pregnancy body. Really not happy with it, and it doesn't feel like its my skin. My son is 14 months, and I thought that feeling would have passed by now, but I guess not. I got a haircut because I needed one (it was 2 years since my last haircut, so you can imagine).
All I got what a trim and some layering done, and bam! Funk has been lifted.
Anyone else feel that funk so long after you've had your baby?
My goodness! 11 inches? Thats a lot, lol.
My hair was just so straight and bland...absolutely NO style. Now its got some spunk, and I like it. I can wear it down without feeling self concious. And there isn't so much of it anymore. My hair is thinnish, but strong, and there is a LOT of it, so it gets knotted in seconds, but with the layering, it just flows better and its not so...much hair everywhere.

Oh yeah! I chopped 11 inches and added highlights right after DD's first birthday. I felt like a million bucks!
lol That's how I feel when I notice it's gained a few inches. I just got layers a couple months ago and I want to slap myself, what was I thinking, I know I hate them. So I actually put myself further into the funk, rather than pulled myself out. So I expect to feel better once they've grown out enough to cut out. But I did learn some awesome new buns and braids that make me feel better.
Plus on a psycho side note, the layers greatly depreciate the monetary value of my hair.
Hope I can get a haircut soon. I'm due for another one... I haven't done anytging but trim my hair. I'll post a pictur re of it in a minute. I want some ideas on how I should cut it :)
I do...but of course i'm pregnant again so it doesn't count lol. Ask me again in a few years. lol

I need new clothes. Thanks for that idea! lol. I actually just busted a zipper on my fav shorts...UGH. I mean, I'm fat and I need to lose weight, but dammit, thats not why my zipper broke, lol. They were fitting loose on me.

Glad you feel better. I have been in the post baby funk for 3 years(yes, 3 years). I have recently started changing things little by little. Starter weight watchers, walking for exercise, no soda. I have been keeping up with my mani/pedi's. Something that really boosted my confidence was that I bought new clothes. I was going to wait until I lost weight, but DH thought it would lift my spirits and it did. I think I will try a new hair style next. Thanks for the idea, and glad you feel better mama.
