Did you know that Jehovah's Witnesses believe...

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

Did you know that although people think that Jehovah's Witnesses are these pushy preachy people, that they believe AND PREACH that people who aren't Jehovah's Witness and who do not know "the truth" will have the chance to learn about and decide to accept or reject God for 100 years after Armageddon.

I think it's great that they have faith that God is not this cold hearted being who enjoys watching people make bad choices and burn in hell. They also don't believe hell is a place filled with fire, they believe that it's just death without an after life.

Much better then some people who think that you're automatically doomed if you don't believe in God. He is not stupid. He knows that this world we live in is filled with fallacies and deciete. He knows good people are going to be skeptical.

P.S. I am completely agnostic and open in my views in all aspects.

The next time they do, tell them that. They will respect your wishes.

I don't care what they believe, I just wish they would stop knocking on my door.

To believe that hell is just death without an afterlife is heartless. In Islam it's believed that hell is more like a hospital. Your sick, you may/may not know why your there, but every moment there feels like eternity. It's written that one day hell will be empty. I think that is more just and merciful belief. What do you think?

they believe only 144,000 people will ever go to heaven.(out of maybe hundreds of billions or trillion of people) In Christianity, anyone that believes Jesus died for them and repents of their sins will go to heaven. They will also have a great relationship with God and don't believe they have to knock on peoples doors all day and bother them to get into heaven.

You should get a dog that will bark loudly at them and bite them:)

If they open my gate with the Beware of Dog sign on it,  Then I don't think that a No Trespassing sign is going to stop them.  They even look in my front window if I don't answer the door.

Get a "No Tresspassing" sign?

I think it's annoying too, but they are only trying to do what the Bible tells them. I've also never had an experience where one was being pushy like the stories I hear on here though.

Cult.

Yes.  Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult that is masquerading as a religion.  Their elders rule their lives.  Jws can be disfellowshiped for going to an R rated movie, smoking, celebrating Christmas or Easter or sending someone a birthday card.

There are all sorts of things they can't do because it's considered "indecent behavior".

They aren't supposed to have any friends who aren't jws.

They can't date casually (all dating is done in preparation for marriage and they aren't supposed to marry "until the bloom of youth is over".  They're supposed to spend all their youth serving the Lord.) and if they do date they're supposed to have a chaperon.  Even middle-aged jws couples can't be allowed to be alone on dates.  The reason for this is too avoid the temptation of lust.  I guess they would leap on each other if they were alone!

Certain forms of sex aren't allowed not even between married couples.  Those things are indecent behavior.

In fact, the jws have so many harsh rules that it's practically impossible for any normal person to be a good jw.  I knew plenty of them because my ex husband, (who was a wife beater and loved a phrase that he found in an ancient jewish text that said that "a husband shouldn't beat his wife with a stick that was bigger around than his thumb")  was a jw.

Most jws are hypocrites, in one way or another.  I knew one of their pioneers (That's what they call a full-time preacher.) who always wanted me to watch X rated movies and porn with her while her husband was at work and her kids were at school.  Many jws are fascinated with the seamy and steamy side of life because it is absolutely forbidden to them.  It's indecent behavior.

My daughter said that some kids who were at her high school who were jws held nude swims all the time and that the elders were frantic to break in on them.  More of that delightful indecent behavior!

Stay away from the jws!  You can never, never trust them, believe me.  They just seem sweet and mild and nice.  That's the face they put on for preaching, but inside they are judgmental, self-righteous and absolutely unyielding about their rules.  Nothing is as important as their religion to them, not family, not friends, nothing and theeir elders are obnoxious spies.

I hope so too, but jws rule by fear, fear of displeasing their god, fear of Armegedon and dying, fear of being different from anything their elders impose on them.
